What You'll Do:
- Provide Academic Support: Assist students with their academic work, helping them understand and master various subjects.
- Encourage and Motivate: Inspire students to develop a love for learning and build their confidence in their academic abilities.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Ensure a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged.
- Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Monitor Progress: Track students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Organise Resources: Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and resources.
- Provide Individualised Support: Offer one-on-one or small-group support to students needing extra help.
- Uphold Standards: Adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in providing academic support or tutoring, ideally within an educational setting.
- Passion for Education: A genuine interest in helping students succeed academically.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Adaptability: Ability to tailor support to suit a range of abilities and learning styles.
- Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety principles.
- Positive Attitude: Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to supporting students' development.
Requirements:
- Right to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK.
- References: An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- DBS Check: An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
