Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Rate: £95 to £110 a day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you'll be a vital part of the educational journey, working hand-in-hand with teachers to uplift students' learning experiences. You'll also dive into preparing engaging lesson materials, energising classroom activities, and offering insightful feedback on student progress. Your role is all about making a meaningful impact on students' educational paths!

Key Responsibilities of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

  • Collaborate with teachers to create tailored learning plans that address the specific needs of each student. Regularly review and adjust these plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
  • Offer individual and small group interventions to help students improve their academic skills. Use evidence-based strategies to support students in developing their reading, writing, and comprehension abilities.
  • Teach and reinforce effective study techniques, helping students to understand and engage with their studies. Encourage positive interactions and model appropriate behaviour.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to implement learning strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support teachers in addressing learning challenges and fostering a culture of respect and cooperation.
  • Maintain detailed records of students’ progress and any interventions used. Provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student’s development.
  • Ensure that students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families.

Requirements of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

  • Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students in their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable.
