SEN Teacher

Location: Weymouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored education and providing the support necessary to help students achieve their full potential.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to provide holistic student support.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust learning plans accordingly.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social development in students.

What we need from a Special Education Needs Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) as an SEN Teacher.
  • Understanding of SEN teaching strategies, including support for autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable teaching approach.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
