GSL Education are recruiting skilled Cover Teachers to provide dynamic and engaging teaching support across a variety of primary and secondary schools in Poole. This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy variety, autonomy and the opportunity to inspire young learners in diverse settings.
About The Role:
As a Cover Teacher, you will step into classrooms at short notice, ensuring that students remain engaged and on track with their learning. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified teachers, experienced educators and subject specialists looking for a flexible teaching career.
Responsibilities of Cover Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons based on pre-set plans and curriculum guidelines.
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments, fostering student engagement and participation.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused learning atmosphere.
- Work with Teaching Assistants and school staff to support student learning.
- Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
- Provide feedback on student progress to school leadership teams when necessary.
The successful candidate will:
- Must have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in primary or secondary schools in the UK.
- Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills.
- A passion for inspiring students and creating a positive learning environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
