Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per year (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

About The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in designing and delivering personalised learning plans that meet the individual needs of students with various learning difficulties and disabilities. You will create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment, ensuring that each pupil receives the support necessary to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to promote academic and personal development.
  • Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to support each student’s educational journey.
  • Develop and implement EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) to ensure all students receive the appropriate support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching techniques, including multi-sensory approaches and assistive technology, to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in SEN (or willingness to undertake relevant training).
  • Proven experience working with students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and SEMH needs.
  • A strong understanding of various SEN needs (including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Patience, empathy and exceptional communication skills to work effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
  • A positive, resilient mindset and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
