Job title: Behaviour Support (Primary)
Location: Boscombe, Dorset
Salary: £12.83 per hour
Start Date: Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-Time can be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education needs an engaging and caring Behaviour Support Specialist to join a vibrant primary school in Boscombe. This full-time permanent role offers the chance to help young learners develop essential skills and thrive—with part-time options available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of Behaviour Support (Primary):

  • Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to primary-aged students.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies to support children’s social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to create tailored intervention plans.
  • Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment.
  • Support students in building confidence, resilience, and self-regulation skills.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to staff and parents.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience in behaviour support, SEN, or working with children.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing behaviour.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to individual student needs.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour reinforcement techniques (preferred).
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
