About the Role:

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other educational professionals to support students across various age groups and learning abilities. You will play a pivotal role in assisting with lesson delivery, supporting individual student progress and maintaining an engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities That We Are Looking For:

  • Assist in delivering tailored learning interventions for students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated in their learning.
  • Encourage active participation and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Support the management of classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Assist with group and one-to-one interventions, ensuring that all pupils receive tailored educational support.
  • Contribute to lesson planning and resource preparation to enhance the learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring student welfare remains the highest priority.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Experience working with SEN and SEMH students in an educational setting
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in children's lives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
  • A strong understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education).
