Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a proactive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in an SEN school located in Lincoln. This role is well-suited to individuals with prior experience in SEN/SEMH support, as well as those who possess strong interpersonal skills, resilience and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in assisting students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to succeed. This position involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans, providing one-on-one assistance and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, ensuring they engage positively with the curriculum.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), adapting learning materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Support students in managing their emotions, behaviour and social interactions, promoting confidence and self-regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured environment that encourages student participation and independence.
- Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusion, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for all learners.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Job Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is highly desirable.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth.
- Understanding of various Special Educational Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Strong communication skills and working effectively within a team environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
