Disability Support Worker

Location: Wareham
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

About the role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide tailored assistance to students with diverse needs, promoting their independence and ensuring an inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone with a caring nature who is committed to helping students with disabilities achieve their full potential.

Disability Support Worker Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with disabilities.
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning and care plans.
  • Help students develop social, communication, and life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Support students with mobility, personal care, and classroom participation.
  • Encourage independence while ensuring a safe and supportive setting.

What you have to do as a Disability Support Worker:

  • Previous experience in a disability support, SEN, or care role is desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, personal care, and behaviour management strategies.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
