About the Role:
As an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering a high-quality early education experience that supports children’s cognitive, emotional and social development. You will create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children can flourish during this crucial stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities of the EYFS Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based lessons aligned with the EYFS statutory framework.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence and creativity.
- Assess, monitor and track children’s progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Promote early literacy and numeracy skills through fun and interactive methods.
- Support the social and emotional well-being of young learners, building their confidence and self-esteem.
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques that create a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Work closely with parents, carers and school staff to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
- Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the welfare of all pupils.
Requirements of the EYFS Teacher:
- A relevant degree in Early Years or a closely related field, alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching EYFS, with a strong understanding of child development principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS curriculum, including the seven areas of learning and early assessment frameworks.
- A passion for early years education, with the ability to create an engaging and inspiring classroom atmosphere.
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to encourage positive behaviour and social skills in young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals to support pupil development.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for using songs, stories, role play and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
