SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hook
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Hook. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to provide tailored support, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed academically and personally.

Special Needs TA Responsibilities:

  • Support children with special educational needs in both one-to-one and small group settings.
  • Assist in implementing learning strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to build confidence and independence in their learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans to meet students’ needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, offering regular feedback.

SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a related degree are beneficial.
  • A degree in psychology, education, or something similar.
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
