Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: Immediate start
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and innovative Teacher of IT to join a high-achieving secondary school in Farnborough, Hampshire. This role is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Teacher (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), experienced educator, or overseas-trained teacher who is passionate about developing students’ digital skills and preparing them for a tech-driven future.

Role Overview:
As a Teacher of IT, you will play a key role in shaping students' understanding of Information Technology, Computer Science, and Digital Literacy. You will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5, if applicable), equipping students with the knowledge and skills to excel in an increasingly digital world.
Teacher of IT Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality IT lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
- Incorporate practical, real-world applications of IT to enhance learning experiences.
- Encourage problem-solving, coding, and computational thinking in the classroom.
- Differentiate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, including SEN and EAL students.
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel confident exploring IT concepts.
- Support students with IT-related extracurricular activities, coding clubs, or competitions.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and school behaviour standards.
Teacher of IT Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT) status, or an overseas teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in IT and Computer Science, with the ability to teach across key stages.
- Experience teaching IT/Computer Science at secondary level.
- A passion for digital education and the ability to inspire students in a fast-evolving field.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate teaching strategies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
