Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a school in Scunthorpe. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of children who require additional support to thrive in an educational setting.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs to access the curriculum. You will play a key role in ensuring a nurturing and structured learning environment where all children feel supported.

Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Support students with learning, social, and emotional development in the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and adapted lessons for children with SEN.
  • Work closely with SENCOs and other staff to create inclusive learning plans.
  • Help students develop essential communication and social skills.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement.
  • Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • A patient, understanding, and supportive approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or psychology (desirable but not essential).
  • A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
