Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a student in Blandford. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on helping students overcome challenges, ensuring they feel valued, confident, and engaged in their learning journey.
The Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an individual student, adapting teaching materials to their specific needs, encouraging positive engagement, and fostering a sense of independence. Your role will be crucial in helping them achieve academic and personal progress within a supportive school environment.
1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with additional learning needs.
- Implement strategies to help the student stay engaged and motivated in lessons.
- Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning resources for accessibility.
- Encourage positive social interactions and build the student's confidence.
- Monitor progress and communicate updates to relevant staff and parents.
- Support the development of essential skills, including communication and emotional regulation.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Someone with previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties.
- A patient, understanding, and supportive individual who can build strong rapport.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching approaches.
- An awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or psychology (desirable but not essential).
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
