Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join a supportive school in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people who need guidance and emotional support to thrive in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with mental health challenges.
  • Implement strategies to promote emotional resilience and well-being.
  • Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, ensuring tailored support is provided.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with mental health needs, in a school or care setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with students.
  • A relevant qualification in psychology, mental health, or social care is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
