Job Title: SEMH Maths Teacher
Location: Chesterfield (S41)
Salary Range: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Full – Time, Long-term
Are you a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher looking to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education has an exciting long-term opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic SEMH Maths Teacher to join a specialist school in Chesterfield and make a real impact.
As an SEMH Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering structured and engaging Maths lessons tailored to students with additional learning needs. Your ability to adapt teaching strategies, foster a positive learning environment, and build strong relationships will be key to student success.
Responsibilities of the SEMH Maths Teacher:
- Plan and deliver differentiated Maths lessons that cater to students with SEMH, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm and structured classroom.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and support staff to develop tailored learning plans.
- Support students in building their confidence, problem-solving skills, and mathematical understanding.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
- Engage in off-site learning activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Requirements of the SEMH Maths Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant UK teaching experience.
- Experience teaching Maths to students with SEMH or in alternative provision settings.
- Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach.
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
- A full UK driving license.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
