A vibrant primary school in Hull is seeking an Early Years specialist to provide engaging and inspiring lessons for their Reception class. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young learners' foundational education in a setting that values creativity, development and the joy of early learning. If you have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As an EYFS Primary Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering a play-based yet structured curriculum that fosters children's natural curiosity and love for learning. You will create a stimulating and inclusive environment, supporting children's development in language, numeracy and social skills while nurturing their confidence and independence. This role requires a dedicated, patient and innovative teacher who can engage young learners through interactive and meaningful experiences.

Key Responsibilities of the EYFS Primary Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Provide a nurturing and safe learning environment where children feel supported and valued.
  • Use a range of creative and interactive teaching methods, including play-based learning, to develop key skills.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress through observations and formative assessments, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Establish strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on children's development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions, promoting respect and cooperation among young learners.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and SEN staff, ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional needs, receive the support they require.
  • Foster a love of learning through storytelling, hands-on activities and outdoor play.

Requirements of the EYFS Primary Teacher:

  • A relevant degree in Early Years or a closely related field, alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching EYFS, with a strong understanding of child development principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS curriculum, including the seven areas of learning and early assessment frameworks.
  • A passion for early years education, with the ability to create an engaging and inspiring classroom atmosphere.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to encourage positive behaviour and social skills in young children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals to support pupil development.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for using songs, stories, role play and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

What We Offer:

  • A lucrative pay structure (£162.31 – £223.63 per day, M1 – M6) designed to reward your teaching experience.
  • Opportunity to work in a supportive school environment with strong leadership and professional development opportunities.
  • A dedicated consultant providing ongoing support and guidance throughout your placement.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a lasting impact on young learners’ educational journeys.
