We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Hull for the remainder of the academic year. About the Role:
As a Year 2 Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a creative and engaging curriculum that fosters curiosity and a love for learning. You will guide pupils through a crucial stage of their early education, ensuring they develop strong literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills. Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents, you will help create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages each child to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the Year 2 Primary Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 National Curriculum, ensuring pupils make excellent progress.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported and motivated to learn.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to cater for diverse learning needs, ensuring all pupils are challenged and engaged.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
- Prepare pupils for Key Stage 1 SATs, developing their confidence and academic abilities.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to enhance the learning experience for all pupils.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and development.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
Year 2 Primary Teacher requirements:
- A relevant degree in Primary Education or a closely related field, alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.
- Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics, literacy and numeracy frameworks.
- A passion for child-centred learning and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a structured yet dynamic learning environment.
- Ability to use assessment data effectively to inform planning and drive pupil progress.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
