Job Title: Maths Teacher – GCSE
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £140 - £190 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Easter Term 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Sheffield from the Easter term 2025. If you have a passion for numbers, problem-solving, and helping students achieve their full potential in GCSE Maths, this is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact.
As a GCSE Maths Teacher, you will deliver engaging and structured lessons, helping students develop confidence in mathematical concepts, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. You will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE exams, ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes. This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who have completed their training placements and are ready to begin their teaching journey.
Key Responsibilities of GCSE Maths Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Maths lessons aligned with the GCSE curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to make complex mathematical concepts accessible to all students.
- Prepare students for GCSE exams, providing structured revision and exam techniques.
- Assess student progress, providing feedback and targeted support where needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to excel.
- Use technology, real-world examples, and interactive learning strategies to enhance engagement.
- Maintain effective classroom management and encourage a growth mindset.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
Requirements of GCSE Maths Teacher:
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to student progress and academic achievement.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
Mandatory information:
- The successful candidate must hold PGCE in the relevant subject with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), or equivalent certification.
- Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
