Job Title: English Teacher – GCSE
Location: Worksop
Salary: £140 - £190 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Easter Term 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Worksop from the Easter term 2025. If you have a love for literature, language, and helping students achieve their potential, this is the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

As a GCSE English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that develop students' reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will play a key role in preparing students for their GCSE exams, fostering a love for English while ensuring they reach their full potential. This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who have completed their training placements and are ready to begin their teaching journey.

Key Responsibilities of GCSE English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver inspiring English lessons tailored to GCSE students.
  • Develop students’ skills in literary analysis, creative writing, and comprehension.
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams, providing structured support and guidance.
  • Differentiate teaching methods to cater to students of varying abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and promote a love for English literature and language.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance student success.

Requirements of GCSE English Teacher:

  • Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for literature, language, and inspiring students.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to student progress and academic excellence.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.

Mandatory information:

  • The successful candidate must hold PGCE in the relevant subject with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), or equivalent certification.
  • Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
