SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Scunthorpe. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they have the best possible access to education in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, following tailored learning plans.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to students where needed.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure students' needs are met.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a related degree are advantageous.
- A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field.
- Understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support students effectively.
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
- A passion for working in education and helping children succeed.
- An enhanced DBS in the update service or willing to apply for one.
