Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 annually (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate or April 2025
Contract: Full – Time, Permanent

About The Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will work within a supportive educational setting, creating a stimulating and structured learning environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs. This role demands a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach to ensure all students receive the personalised support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:
- Plan, deliver and differentiate lessons to accommodate the individual needs of pupils with SEN, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Employ a variety of teaching methods, strategies and assistive technologies to support diverse learning abilities.
- Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians and external support networks to promote holistic student development.
- Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures to create a safe and secure learning environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a focus on SEN (or willingness to undertake further training).
- Proven experience working with pupils with special educational needs in a classroom setting.
- The ability to differentiate lessons and employ a range of teaching techniques to support students with varying needs.
- A compassionate, patient and understanding approach to teaching, with a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of every child.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with other professionals to support SEN students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
