SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Winton
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming school in Winton. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in helping students overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they receive the guidance and support they need to reach their full potential.

Special Needs TA Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Assist teachers in delivering adapted lessons to suit individual learning styles.
  • Encourage students’ confidence and independence through positive reinforcement.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students develop their social and communication skills.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role requires:

  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare are preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or similar.
  • Knowledge of various special needs such as Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties etc.
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational setting as an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), is preferred.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
