Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 Per Day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are searching for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing school in Christchurch. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with children requiring additional support and are eager to create a meaningful learning experience.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with a variety of special educational needs, helping them to engage with their learning and build confidence in the classroom. You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure students receive the personalised attention they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:
- Offer individual and small group support, adapting learning materials to suit different needs.
- Assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, promoting a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
- Use creative techniques to support students in developing key skills.
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students under your care.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational, care, or youth work setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- A passion for inclusive education and making a difference in students’ lives.
- The ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
- Have an updated CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained).
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
