Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 Per Day  (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education and eager to support children with additional learning needs.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students, helping them overcome learning barriers and develop confidence in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student confidence and independence.
  • Adapt teaching resources and strategies to suit individual learning styles.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them develop self-regulation skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
  • Promote a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.

Requirements of Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or support capacity.
  • A passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
  • Have an updated CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
