Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 Annually (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Weymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive a high-quality education tailored to their individual needs.

About the Role:

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences to students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and personal growth.

Primary SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning requirements, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Adapt lesson plans to cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.

Primary SEN Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Have an updated CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
