Salary Range: £140 - £190 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are excited to be recruiting for a General Supply Teacher to join an outstanding school in Doncaster. This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who have completed their training placements and are ready to begin their teaching journey.

About the Role

As a General Supply Teacher, you will cover classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of learning. You will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans, maintaining classroom discipline, and providing support to students across different subjects. Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for variety or someone eager to get started in teaching, this is a rewarding and flexible opportunity.

Responsibilities for a General Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects to the students of KS3 to KS4 according to pre-set plans.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with their learning and ensure they remain on task.
  • Mark work where required and provide constructive feedback.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.

Requirements of a General Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as a General Supply Teacher in secondary schools.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different subjects and age groups.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.

Mandatory Information:

  • The successful candidate must hold PGCE in the relevant subject with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), or equivalent certification.
  • Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
