Rate: £83.34 - £96 per day (Depending on experience)

Your Mission

As a 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a primary school student with behavioural needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide 1:1 support for a student with behavioural needs.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school’s policies.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to ensure progress.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans for the student, tailoring strategies and resources to meet their specific needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting the student’s learning and well-being.
  • Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where the student feels valued and included.
  • Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of the student.
  • Keep detailed notes on the student’s development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Additional qualifications or training in special education or behaviour management are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students effectively.
