Geography Teacher - Basingstoke, Hampshire

GSL Education needs an engaging and enthusiastic full-time Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Basingstoke. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £30k to £50k per year, with a start date of Easter 2025 or September 2025. This is a full-time role with a permanent contract available after a probation period. Whether you're an ECT or an experienced teacher, this school offers fantastic career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5).
- Develop students’ knowledge and understanding of physical and human geography.
- Encourage critical thinking, geographical inquiry, and environmental awareness.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour management.
- Contribute to curriculum development and department initiatives.
- Support extracurricular activities such as field trips and geography clubs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in staff training.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
