Information Technology Teacher - Portsmouth, Hampshire

GSL Education needs a passionate and skilled full-time Information Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Portsmouth. This exciting opportunity starts from Easter 2025 or September 2025, offering a salary between £30k to £50k per year. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period, with excellent career progression opportunities within the school.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured IT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Develop students’ digital literacy and technical skills, preparing them for future careers in technology.
- Plan and implement innovative teaching methods to inspire curiosity and creativity in computing.
- Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
- Contribute to the development of the IT curriculum, ensuring it remains current and relevant.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance learning experiences and share best practices.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Specialism in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver engaging IT lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to inspiring students and promoting a passion for digital learning.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
