Seeking a Full-Time Science Teacher – Secondary School in Portsmouth, Hampshire!

GSL Education are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The role is available to start from Easter 2025 or September 2025, depending on your availability, and offers a full-time position with a permanent contract following a successful probation period. The pay rate for this role is between £30k to £50k per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Science across various topics and levels.
  • Develop, plan, and implement lesson plans that promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Foster a safe and positive environment that encourages participation, respect, and curiosity.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to create an inclusive and supportive school community.
  • Participate in extracurricular programs and events related to Science.
  • Take an active role in promoting academic success and well-being of students.
  • Keep up to date with the latest curriculum developments and pedagogical practices in Science.

Required Qualifications for a Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong passion for Science and education.
  • Experience teaching Science at the secondary school level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
  • The ability to create and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to excel in Science.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to fostering student well-being and personal development.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
