Full-Time Dance & Film Teacher – Secondary School in Portsmouth, Hampshire
GSL Education are delighted to present an incredible opportunity for a Dance & Film Teacher to join a lively and supportive secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This role is set to begin either from Easter 2025 or September 2025, depending on your notice period. The school welcomes both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and seasoned educators. Following a successful probation period, a permanent contract will be offered. The annual salary for this position ranges from £30,000 to £50,000, based on experience.
Responsibilities of a Dance & Film Teacher:
- Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in Dance and Film.
- Develop, plan, and implement lesson plans that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Foster a safe and positive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and respect.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to create an inclusive and supportive school community.
- Participate in extracurricular programs and events related to Dance and Film.
- Take an active role in promoting the artistic and cultural development of students.
- Keep up to date with the latest curriculum developments and pedagogical practices in Dance and Film.
Required Qualifications for a Dance & Film Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong passion for Dance and Film.
- Experience teaching Dance and/or Film at the secondary school level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
- The ability to create and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with students.
- A commitment to fostering student well-being and personal development.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
