Location: Middlesbrough
Pay rate: £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience).

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic General Cover Teacher to join a variety of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. About the Role:
As a General Cover Teacher, you will step into classrooms across various subjects, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring a positive learning atmosphere. You will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in students' education during teacher absences, adapting to different subjects while upholding school policies and values.
Responsibilities of the General Cover Teacher:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring high engagement and participation.
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour, following the school’s behaviour management policies.
- Adapt quickly to different year groups, subjects and school settings, providing a seamless transition for students.
- Support students with their learning, encouraging progress and fostering a productive classroom environment.
- Liaise with school staff to ensure effective communication and consistency in teaching delivery.
- Provide feedback on student engagement and progress where necessary.
- Ensure all safeguarding procedures are adhered to, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements of the General Cover Teacher:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching in UK secondary schools, ideally in a general cover capacity.
- Be comfortable teaching across a range of subjects, demonstrating adaptability and confidence.
- Possess strong classroom management skills, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment.
- Be flexible, proactive and able to build rapport with students quickly.
- Demonstrate a commitment to student development, engagement and achievement.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
