Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per year (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

About The Role:
As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, personalised lessons to children with varying SEN needs. Your focus will be on providing tailored support, helping to improve the academic, social and emotional development of each child under your care. You will work closely with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and a team of Teaching Assistants to deliver outstanding support to students with a wide range of learning challenges, ensuring that all students receive an inclusive education.
Responsibilities of Primary SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for students with SEN, ensuring all students can engage meaningfully with the curriculum.
- Assess and monitor individual progress, implementing appropriate interventions and support strategies.
- Develop individual learning plans and set achievable, measurable goals to help students meet their full potential.
- Provide a nurturing and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to students' development.
- Manage classroom behaviour and implement effective strategies to encourage positive conduct and a focus on learning.
- Engage in regular professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in SEN (or willingness to undertake relevant training).
- Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting, is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of various SEN needs (including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning requirements.
- Patience, empathy and exceptional communication skills to work effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
- A positive, resilient mindset and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
