Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Southampton
Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Southampton. This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong commitment to supporting students in their learning and personal development.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialists to support students with additional needs. You will provide tailored assistance, helping children engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support students with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.
  • Assist with personalised learning plans to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to encourage student engagement and progress.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student development, sharing insights with teachers and parents.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support students' well-being.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
