Teacher of Secondary Maths
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent

GSL Education are working with a secondary school in Southampton to find an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Maths. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of committed professionals and teach Maths across various key stages

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that engage students and help them develop a solid understanding of mathematical concepts. You will support students to reach their full potential while fostering a love for learning and enhancing their academic performance.

Responsibilities for a Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through regular feedback and tailored support.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop a rich and challenging Mathematics curriculum.
  • Set clear learning objectives for students and encourage their engagement in lessons.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment, where every student is encouraged to reach their potential.
  • Contribute to the development of extracurricular activities and school initiatives related to Maths.
  • Participate in regular meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.

Teacher of Maths Qualification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT (Early Career Teacher) status.
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for delivering Mathematics education.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
  • A commitment to providing a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
