GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join a secondary school in Hull. This exciting opportunity allows you to deliver engaging History lessons, encouraging students to explore the past and understand its relevance to the present day.
About the Role:
As a Teacher of History, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across different key stages, enabling students to develop a deep understanding of historical events, their significance, and their impact on the modern world. Your role will involve creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a love of history, and supporting students in developing critical thinking skills. You will have the opportunity to inspire students through the study of key historical periods, events, and themes.
Responsibilities of a History Teacher:
- Plan and deliver history lessons for Key Stage 3,4 and 5 students in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote critical thinking and historical analysis.
- Encourage students to explore historical events and connect them to current global issues.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners and ensure inclusive teaching.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support their development.
- Foster a love for history, inspiring students to explore the subject beyond the classroom.
- Ensure a positive and productive classroom environment, implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
- Contribute to the development of the history curriculum and school’s educational goals.
- Adhere to all school policies, including safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Teacher of History Qualification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Humanities or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at the secondary school level is desirable.
- A passion for history and a strong ability to engage students.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate lessons.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one.
