SEN Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bournemouth. This full-time position offers a salary between £17,500 to £19,500 per year, with a start date available ASAP or from Easter 2025. A permanent contract is available for the right candidate.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide one-to-one support for a student with behavioural needs who has an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). Your role will involve helping to create a structured and supportive learning environment, implementing strategies to manage behaviour positively, and ensuring the student remains engaged and motivated.
Responsibilities as a SEN TA:
- Provide one-to-one support for a student with behavioural needs in line with their Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
- Assist with emotional regulation, engagement, and academic progress.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised support strategies.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support social and emotional development through structured interventions.
Requirements for the SEN TA:
- Previous experience working with children with behavioural or SEN needs (preferred but not essential).
- Strong patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Ability to use positive behaviour management strategies.
- A background in education, care, or youth work would be advantageous.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
