Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in behavioural support, SEN education, youth work, or psychology, as well as those looking to build a meaningful career in pastoral support and alternative education.
About the role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will assist in fostering a positive learning environment, helping students to develop essential skills in self-regulation, communication and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with behavioural challenges.
- Implement individual behaviour plans and positive reinforcement strategies tailored to students’ needs.
- Assist students in developing coping mechanisms, emotional regulation techniques and social skills.
- Foster positive relationships with students to build trust, engagement and motivation.
- Support the teaching team in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment.
- Encourage students to participate fully in learning activities, promoting self-confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, parents and external professionals to support students’ progress.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the well-being of all students.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or SEN is highly desirable.
- A background in youth work, psychology, education, or social care is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students.
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach to working with young people in need of additional support.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
