Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you a patient and resilient Behaviour Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in education? If so, GSL Education are seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join a school in Bournemouth on either a full-time or part-time basis, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in managing their behaviour and engagement in learning.

About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional guidance with their behaviour and emotional well-being. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals to help students develop positive coping strategies and achieve their full potential.

Behaviour Support Worker Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support student progress.
  • Encourage students to develop resilience, confidence, and social skills.
  • Monitor and report on student behaviour, providing feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
  • Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and providing emotional support to students.

Behaviour Support Worker Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use de-escalation techniques effectively.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
