EYFS Teaching Assistant – Supporting Early Years Development

Location: Plymouth
Salary: £80-£90 per day
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children in an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting. This full-time role is ideal for those passionate about providing young learners with a strong foundation for their educational journey in a stimulating and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children in Early Years (Nursery & Reception), encouraging their development in key areas such as communication, social skills, and early learning.
  • Assist in delivering play-based learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide additional support to children with SEN and speech & language difficulties.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction.

Requirements

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in an EYFS setting (nursery or school) is preferred.
  • A calm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting early learning.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with children, staff, and parents.
  • Understanding of EYFS frameworks and early childhood development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
