SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Winchester
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in Winchester to provide tailored support and guidance to students in a supportive school environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, compassionate, and dedicated to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, helping them overcome learning barriers and develop confidence in their abilities. You will assist in creating a safe and inclusive classroom, adapting lessons to meet individual needs, and offering emotional and academic support.
SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lesson plans that meet individual student requirements.
- Support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching materials to support students with different learning styles.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and communication skills.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Help prepare and organise classroom activities and learning resources.
- Provide physical and emotional support to students when required.
SEN Teaching Assistant Skills & Qualification:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a relevant field is advantageous.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable.
- Understanding of SEN needs, behaviour management strategies, and learning support techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, nurturing, and positive approach to learning.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
