Salary: £30,000 - £46535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate vacancy/ Easter 2025 Start
Contract: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a Substitute Teacher to support secondary schools in Southampton. About the Role:
As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning within a school setting. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, ensuring student engagement, and upholding school policies in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities of the Substitute Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and structured lessons across different subjects and year groups.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Maintain continuity of learning by following lesson plans left by permanent teachers.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging participation and academic engagement.
- Support students’ progress by providing guidance and clarification when needed.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to uphold school policies and values.
- Maintain flexibility and professionalism, adjusting to various school environments.
Substitute Teacher requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a must.
- Proven experience in secondary education, with the ability to teach across multiple subjects.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Adaptability to different teaching styles and school settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
