Location: Newham
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term until July 2025

GSL Education's London Branch are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in Newham. We are seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons up to GCSE level. This is a fantastic chance for a dedicated professional to make a positive impact on students’ learning and development.

English Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to secondary school students, focusing on GCSE English.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
  • Provide pastoral support to students when needed, helping to build their confidence and academic success.

English Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level, including GCSE.
  • A strong understanding of the English curriculum and GCSE exam specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to promoting students’ academic and personal development.
