Location: Bovington
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a school in Bovington. This role is perfect for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to helping students develop positive behaviours and achieve their full potential.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant (Behaviour TA), you will provide tailored support to students who may face challenges in their learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties. Working closely with teachers and SENCOs, you will implement behaviour strategies and interventions, ensuring a structured and supportive learning environment for all students.

What you have to do:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural needs.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans), ICPs (Individual Care Plans), and IEPs (Individual Education Plans) to promote student development.
  • Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies to support students.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students in building confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop tailored behaviour support plans.
  • Encourage student participation in learning activities while managing behaviour effectively.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop essential social and emotional skills.

What we need in a Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant or similar role is desirable.
  • A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred but not essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to support staff and students effectively.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to managing behaviour in an educational setting.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
