Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: Spalding
Salary: £90-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to assist with ad-hoc work, covering lessons in secondary schools across Spalding. This flexible, temporary role is perfect for individuals looking for varied work and the opportunity to make a positive impact in schools.

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for ensuring smooth running of lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You will be tasked with supervising students, ensuring they remain focused on their work, and managing any classroom disruptions. The role provides the chance to develop valuable skills in classroom management and further your experience in a variety of educational settings.

You will have the opportunity to work in different schools, gaining insight into various teaching styles and classroom environments. This flexibility makes the role ideal for those looking for ad-hoc work that can fit around other commitments or who are considering a career in education.

Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absence.
  • Ensure students are engaged and on task with set work.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Address any behavioural issues according to school policies.
  • Provide support to students where needed, promoting their welfare and development.
  • Liaise with school staff to ensure any student-specific needs are addressed.
  • Adapt to different subjects and lesson plans as required.

Requirements of the Cover Supervisor:

  • Previous experience working in a classroom or with young people (desirable).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different classroom settings.
  • A proactive and resilient attitude to handle varied situations.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
