Job Title: Food Technology Teacher

Salary Range: £140 – £190 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: February 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to develop essential life skills in cooking, nutrition and food science. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge of the subject to foster a positive and dynamic learning environment.
Responsibilities of the Food Technology:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
- Introduce students to a broad range of culinary techniques, food safety practices and nutritional principles.
- Encourage practical experimentation and independent learning within a well-equipped food technology classroom.
- Assess, monitor and provide constructive feedback to students, ensuring academic progress and skill development.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety within the classroom environment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring all students feel encouraged and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology curriculum and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements of the Food Technology:
- A qualified teacher status (QTS) and must hold a PGCE in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 within UK secondary schools.
- Strong subject knowledge in nutrition, food preparation and health & safety regulations.
- A passion for practical learning, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
