SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £83 - £89 per day

Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex needs and physical disabilities.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personal Care Plans.
- Be prepared to engage in personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene assistance.
- Use manual handling techniques when necessary to ensure student safety and comfort.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Training or experience in working with students with complex needs or Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) is advantageous.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs.
- Willingness to perform personal care duties and engage in manual handling when required.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
