Job Role: Food Technology Teacher
School: A mixed secondary school in Barking and Dagenham
Rate: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term, Full Time

Responsibilities of the Food Technology Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Inspire students to develop a love for cooking and an understanding of nutrition and food safety.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
- Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum and resources.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider school community.
- Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Requirements for the Food Technology Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and practical cooking techniques.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
