Job Role: Geography Teacher
School: A mixed secondary school in Barking and Dagenham
Rate: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term, Full Time
GSL Education London Branch is seeking a passionate and skilled Geography Teacher to join a vibrant mixed secondary school in Barking and Dagenham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to inspire the next generation of geographers in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and dynamic Geography lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Inspire a love for Geography by teaching about physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global cultures.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
- Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and resources.
- Support the school’s ethos by promoting values of respect, responsibility, and community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the department.
Requirements for the Geography Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A passion for Geography and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
